A Fruit of Passion

I'm pretty sure most of us tasted an apple or an orange or a banana, but a passion fruit? What is it anyway? If the passion fruit is as famous as apples or oranges, then forgive me for being ignorant. To tell you frankly, I only tasted this fruit this month, for the first time. And I'm not sure if I ate them right. Anybody care to give a lecture on how to eat a passion fruit the right way? Anybody? They taste pretty good though. Do you have to eat the seeds too? Ano ba yan! Pinahirapan ako ng prutas na 'to ah! So, I'll be waiting for your tips then. In the meantime, I guess I'll have to stick with apples and oranges.

14th Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival

Feb 15 , Sunday, the last day of the Hot Air Balloon Festival held at Clark Field, Pampanga. You really have to be early because so many people attend every year. It usually starts around 7 am. You have to be inside at least 15 mins early to have a good spot to watch the program. It takes about an hour from parking to buying tickets to actually get inside. The ticket part is the most difficult part, because only one booth sells tickets. So you really have to be patient. There were about 15 balloons from different countries that joined the festival. There were also parachutes, gliders and small planes in the exhibition. Lots of souvenirs are available for sale. It was truly a unique experience with my family. Hope to see you there next year.

I Quit!

It's been over a year now since me and my husband made a promise. It's a promise that changed our lives. We decided to quit smoking for good. We tried quitting several times but as others would say, "it's hard to break a bad habit". And a lot of you would definitely agree on that. My husband was a smoker for 9 years. He started with 2 sticks a day and ended up smoking 2 packs a day. Imagine the lung torture. In my case, well I was an on and off smoker for 5 years. A stick after every meal, parang gamot din, 3 times a day. But unlike medicine that can heal you, cigarette slowly kills you. The key here is your will to quit. First you must want to stop smoking, only then can you quit. It's really a psychological battle. Constantly remind yourself of the negative effects of smoking in your body. Start one day at a time. Challenge yourself not to smoke for one whole day. From the time you wake up, to the time you go to bed. I can assure you it is not easy, but the struggle is definitely worth every minute.

He was on the nursery, eyes closed and mouth wide open and was crying the first time my husband saw him. He told me that he will never forget how he felt that day. Now, 10 years later, binata na si Macoy. We celebrated his birthday last night. It was a simple dinner with his titos titas, and his cousins. We had a great time. To Macoy, always remember, We love you very much. Happy Birthday baby.

Still Charming at Two

It's our youngest niece's birthday. And you know how it is with nieces and nephews, being the youngest makes her the favorite. She looked so happy at her party. Almost all her cousins came. They gave her 3 cakes, which she have not tasted by the way, 'cause she was so busy watching Barney and the video my husband and I made for her as a gift. Happy, happy birthday J.D!
