Our Play

Last weekend me and my son, with his cousins, all played a game of tug. My playmates back then called the game Tug of War. Anyway, I thought of playing tug with the kids, aged not more than 10 years old, because I noticed they don't have any physical activities especially on their free time. After school, it's either TV or computer. They don't even talk to each other that much, and when they do talk, it usually end up in bickering.

I always compare myself when I was their age; well everyone is telling me that kids these days are really more on techy stuff. They maybe right, but I'm just curious if these kids are willing to try the old games for a change.

When I got the chance to make these lazy kids sweat their hearts out, I jumped right in and told them that we will play a game of tug. They agreed to give it a try and sure enough, they liked it. They want to keep going but they easily get tired, they run out of breath so easily. Well I'm kinda expecting that because they're not really used to pull that hard.

We had to cut the game short because it was getting dark. Before I left them, they asked when will our next game be? I promised them a game the following day. They all came, and were all excited.

I guess kids will always be kids no matter what.

Snowy white Christmas

I’m dreaming of a White Christmas.  A popular line from a Christmas song, and I certainly am dreaming to have a snowy white Christmas, complete with lights and a fully decorated Christmas tree and the ever so famous Santa figure. Imagine decorating the house with your family while wearing cashmere sweaters, such a cozy feeling. It gives a smile on my face just thinking about it.

Wordless Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone

Isn't beautiful and lovely for my niece......

"Frustration"

With a capital "F" maybe a Fashion addict or Frustration.  Yesterday while strolling in the mall and having a food trip with my hubby, I saw some clothes that made my jaw drop. I felt frustrated because of the way I look and my weight issue. Wondering when will be the time I can wear these kinds of clothes, dress and pants that I love. Here are some of the stuff I spotted.

After giving birth to my second son “ basti ”, I’m never got slimmer, my body keeps getting  fatter and my belly bulgier. How can I refuse food that are really not making me any slimmer? One time, I tried to get a no rice diet but I felt dizzy all the time. It's nowhere near easy to do it,and I'm running out of ideas. All I know is that I seem to be stuck and no matter how hard I try, I don’t seem to get anywhere.

All About Breakfast

It is common knowledge that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But how important is it really?
We eat to nourish our body and replenish the lost energy we’ve used up during the day.
When we sleep, we also use up energy but it’s not as much as when we’re awake, but still we lose some of our energy. An average person should sleep for about 8-9 hours a day. With all that time not having to eat anything, our body should really demand something to use up.

Breakfast not only replenishes our body’s energy supply but it also plays a huge part in our hygiene. Yes folks you read it right, hygiene. This is because a person who does not have breakfast is most probably prone to bad breath. So how busy you may be, don’t forget to take a few minutes and have your first meal of the day.

From the Heart

From the Heart
By Kaye Galvez

All of a sudden and out of the blue
I’m feeling kinda poetic , wanna share it with you
You may call it nostalgic, sentimental may be true
Just have to spill it out, bear with me, please do

It must be joy, but how can it be?
If joy hurt this much, then it may truly be
To hide how I feel is not so easy
when this much happiness I feel inside me

I don’t want to end this story hanging
I really want to explain how I’m feeling
But maybe sometimes words are not enough
To describe what your heart feels can really be tough

Give yourself permission to be un-busy. Give yourself an hour or a day to simply be. Allow yourself the
luxury of a small retreat. Allow your spirit time to be restored. Even God took a day of rest.

Lice

Now a day’s all mothers are freaking out to tiny lousy critters LICE.  Some of them thinking that their too clean, fresh. Having illusions that they would not happen to nice and clean people like them.
If your child say’s itchy or start scratching his heads, especially by the nape of his neck or around his ears, check him out immediately. Lice can get through you with sharing your brushes, combs, pillows, towels, or sleep on with the same bed.

One thing lice can’t fly or jump through the air. But they do crawl really fast.  And Head lice don’t carry and diseases, their just a nuisance.
Some parents get rid of the critters, they applying too many oils, creams, conditioners and some uses pesticide  but not safe.

Preventing lice to transfer to other heads clean and wash all pillow cases, bedding's, towels, as all be infested with lice. Dip all hairbrushes with hot water and vacuum the play area.
The most common treatment for lice pediculicides  in the form of  permethrin shampoo. Massage the scalp with permrthrin for about 15minutes and rinse thoroughly.

For me the best weapon is COMB or (suyod) because is fine –toothed comb. But even if lice are killed, they stay stuck on your child hair strands. Use your lice comb or remove it with your fingers. And comb every three or four days for two weeks to make sure you have remove all lice.

Keep in Touch

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Boost Mobile. All opinions are 100% mine.

One of the perks of this day and age of technology is the effortless way of staying updated with the world around us. The seamlessly unending information that is much more appropriately defined as spoon feeding. Yes it’s all about computers nowadays and they are constantly evolving every single day.

Gone are the days of 256 personal computers with paper white screen and floppy drives. I bet kids today can’t even imagine using a mouseless computer much less use a computer without an internet connection.
I must admit that us consumers are mostly benefited in every growth of technology. Now when was the last time you wrote a letter to a friend or relative just to ask if everything’s okey? I bet it has been quite a while. Today, with just a click of a button, you can catch up on your loved ones’ daily activities and so much more.

What’s even better is the phone technology that we have today. I’m quite sure most of you have been tinkering with Facebook and updating our accounts daily. To tell you frankly, I just updated my account about an hour ago. My brother by the way, do his daily update via hisBlackberry . It sure beats using the PC. It’s much more handy and obviously easier to use. You can check out otherBoost Mobile  phones for more info. What’s good about boost mobile phones is that they have  Re-Boost centers for easy payments. Bet it can’t get any better than that.

Saturday Menu

Today is time to relax and go out try something different....we decided to try some food like

Beef Mami with egg for breakfast and you can add hot sauce.

My favorite Tortang Talong for lunch and tomatos.

The all time favorite is the Chicken Adobo with oyster sauce. Everybody loves chicken adobo because of the sweet and sour taste of the chicken.

Keeping It Clean and Stylish

Taking a shower is a normal part of life we go through every day. Some of us even take a couple or more showers a day. Our weather has been pretty harsh lately and with all the things we have to do every day, it might really be a good idea to visit the shower area more often.
Come to think of it taking a bath is one way of relaxing, away from the busy world, just you, alone enjoying every sprinkle of water from your double shower head.  It’s a nice way to escape the crazy world outside your bathroom door.

Just  make sure you  have everything you need before startin your shower fiesta. Be sure you bring  along soap, shampoo, sponge, shower stool,  and a nice comfy towel.  While you’re at it, grab one of  those  floral bath towels. It sure will be a stylish way of capping up your day.

But before you step out the bathroom, make sure you did not leave the water dripping. Don’t forget to bring your dirty clothes out, and check if the room is clean enough, so the next person to use the bathroom will also have a great time using it.

Work of Art

This is our nephew Dieone, he's in 5th grade. One of his hobbies is sketching. One day his teacher asked him if he wants to try out in an Art Contest in their school. He asked his mom if he could join the contest and she said yes. The materials he used for the contest are Pencil, Charcoal and Water color.

Stress

Stress is our body's natural way of coping with sudden changes in our environment. In many ways, stress, contrary to its negative connotations, is good for us. It keeps us on our toes, makes our minds alert, and  actives our brains to think fast in response to a possible threat or danger.

Mental and Biological Effects
A person under stress may develop assorted symptoms such as ulcers, asthma, and  palpitation. It can also affect  the hormones and alter the immune system, which can make a person susceptible to respiratory diseases. Other mental symptoms include tension, irritability , an inability to concentrate, excessive fatigue and trouble sleeping..
Source of stress can come from anywhere and everywhere.  Unwashed dishes, early morning traffic, deadlines of works, rocky relationship.

Stress can either be overcome or it can reach a point where can be worse.  Stress can be fatal if the person coping a mechanism is problematic, trauma. When this happens a therapy may be needed. This is usually a sign that a doctor help.

Benefits of Payday Loans

Despite the controversy that many people have about payday loans, they remain essential to the customers who use them. The media has said a lot about such money lenders and how they exploit their customers using to high interest rates and penalties. However, as long as the financial institutions remain below the norm, some people have to use such facilities for some extra cash.

Over the years, the result of economic research shows that payday loans are very helpful especially to people who are not traditionally served by the financial institutions or who have less access to the banks. Getting a short term amount of money for a week or so seems generally helpful to the customers. It reduces not only the economic stress but also enhances emotional stability.

The other benefit of payday loans is that they can reach all people at all economic levels. It does not matter how much one is earning and where he lives. He can have access to these facilities. This means that it requires less security compared to the traditional long-term money borrowing from the bank. Obviously, this makes life easier for many people who are economically unstable.

Previous studies have also shown that those people who use payday loans tend to have more stable economic conditions than their counterparts who do not use them. The explanation to this is not so clear perhaps it may be because they learn to save due to fear of the exaggerated interests associated with such facilities.
Studies by Karlan and Zinman in 2007 showed that families with easy credit access have job stability, reduced hunger and reduced poverty. Their findings suggest that the customers have real benefits from these credit facilities. Expanding them to reach more people is vital because it will improve their general welfare.

Road trip anyone

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.
Road trip anyone? You can count me in, I’ll bring snacks. Driving down the road with some friends and taking a not so familiar route is quite exciting. It’s like time is standing still and everything else is in sleep mode. That’s one sure way of having fun.

Planning trips like these are not so complicated. You just have to call a few friends that can drive so everybody can take turns on the wheel. You will also need snacks, drinks and a lot of chit chat. That’s about it. But for some of us who cannot function as normal as others, mobility wise, it’s not that simple. I’m talking about our handicap friends. They too should experience trips like these. We should always treat them equally and fairly. That is why NMEDA or National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association is all about, helping our handicap friends to get back on the road safely and comfortably.

We should understand that it’s difficult to be a caregiver, imagine how hard it would be like if you are the one with a handicap. NMEDA makes it easier for our friends to enjoy driving better just like we enjoy our road trips. Let’s try putting our feet in other’s shoes once in a while to better understand how other’s live their lives and to learn more on how we can help to make others live a better life.
